I am a qualified integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor and a member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I work in a person-centred way whilst integrating and drawing upon other therapeutic counselling models such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Transactional Analysis and Gestalt.
This may or may not be your first time exploring counselling or perhaps you have tried other forms of therapy in the past and not found what fits for you yet. Whatever reason has brought you to making the decision to come for counselling means you have made the first step towards the future you wish to achieve and by offering a safe space to explore who you are, where you want to be in your life and what difficulties you may be facing, I aim to empower you to make positive choices by supporting you to gain a better understanding of yourself, your thoughts, emotions and experiences.
No two people are the same. We all experience things differently - from the way we feel about something, the effect it has on us and how we may react. I work with you as an individual to build on your strengths, gain clarity, and make meaningful changes at your own pace. I provide a warm, compassionate, empathetic and non-judgemental approach which allows for a flexible and personalised journey tailored to your needs and goals.
I help clients who are dealing with various issues or concerns, such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, disordered eating, low self-esteem, grief, and navigating transitions in life. I work to help clients understand themselves better, build emotional strength and resilience, and discovering practical and emotional coping strategies to handle life's challenges for long-term health, happiness and wellbeing.
I provide one to one counselling for adults at my private practice in Clevedon and I believe finding the right counsellor for you is an important part of your individual journey, so I welcome you the offer of a free, non-obligatory 15 minute consultation over the phone or via Zoom / Google Meet so we can discuss your needs and see if JXA Counselling is the right fit for you.
